It was a roar of engines mingled with the smell of fresh cut grass as members of Acadia Region PCA took to the roads on Sunday, June 20 for the club’s annual Valley Tour. Under cloudy skies marked by sporadic rain, some 25 Porches of various makes and models met in Grand Pré for the three-hour tour. Included in the mix were 928s, 924s, 911s, Caymens and Boxsters of all colours, but the car that claimed everyone’s attention

was the 1963 Porsche 356B lovingly restored to pristine condition that had admirers doing a double take when told the silver paint job was over 20 years old! With a route choosen by Acadia PCA member Garth, the group travelled roads – some smooth, some not so smooth - that wound through planted fields, orchards, vineyards and lush valley countryside. Taking the roads less travelled, the group snaked its way along Deep Hollow Road (a perennial favourite with its twists and turns), across the dykes to Canning, then on to Cold Brook and a stop in scenic Halls Harbour before heading to South Mountain and then to Wolfville for a delicious lunch. For passengers and drivers alike, it was a spectacular day and a chance to reconnect with club members.
