Porsche Reports January US Sales Figures

Porsche reports that its US sales figures rose slightly in January 2010. With 1,786 vehicles sold, January deliveries to customers in North America were eight percent above last year’s figures.

Of particularly good news for the company is the warm welcome the new Panamera, which launched in the US in October 2009, has received from US customers. In January, some 534 Gran Turismo models were delivered to US customers. Sales of the 911 model also made progress, with 503 units sold, an increase of 13 percent compared to January 2009.

Not all of the news was good, however.  Only 159 units from the Boxster family, to which the Cayman belongs, were sold, representing a 40-percent drop from the same reporting period last year. As well, a total of 590 units of the sporty all-terrain vehicle Cayenne were sold, a 38-percent frop compared to the same month last year.
