Welcome to Acadia Region
Saturday, 15 May 2010 08:44

Acadia Region is one of the smaller regions in PCA with just under one hundred members. But don't let the membership numbers fool you. While small in numbers, our region covers all of Atlantic Canada, which takes in the four provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland & Labrador - all of Canada east of Quebec!

Like all PCAers, we enjoy getting together and celebrating our favourite marque. And we've been doing that for more than thirty years.

So welcome to our site. Stay awhile and get to know us.

Best regards,

Ted Coldwell
President

Porsche Acronyms Explained

ABD: Automatic Brake Differential

When the drive wheels begin to spin, the automatic brake differential function initially brakes the individual wheel with the higher level of slip. If both wheels spin, anti-slip regulation (ASR) intervenes in a fraction of a second.

ASR: Anti-slip Regulation
Anti-slip regulation serves to prevent excessive slip on the drive wheels, thereby enhancing lateral stability at the rear axle. The ASR function is active during acceleration throughout the entire speed range. The engine power is reduced as a result of intervention in engine control.

Panamera even more efficient
Friday, 18 June 2010 09:42

Eight-cylinder Panamera models are entering the next model year as of August 2010 with an even higher standard of all-round efficiency and new options.

Thanks to a new brake energy recuperation system, together with optional 19-inch all-season tires, the Panamera Turbo offers reduced roll resistance and brings a further improvement of fuel consumption by 0.9 litres/100 km. As a result, the 500-horsepower top model now consumes just 11.3 litres instead of formerly 12.2 litres/100 km. The Panamera S and Panamera 4S will make do with just 10.3 ltr/100 km and 10.6 ltr/100 km respectively.
